Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you provide quick cosmetic acrylic cover-up work?

Never! All of our work is structurally sound real construction. Those so-called "quick fix" cover ups only hide problems in many cases, plus they look and feel cheap. Rot and mold are serious problems that put your home and health at risk. It is very easy for a home to pass inspection between owners while having rot and mold issues underneath seemingly fine surfaces. Just because someone says something is fast, easy and cheap doesn't mean it is... especially in the long run.

We fix existing problems in the home and even previous issues left behind by under qualified fly by night contractors that take advantage of good people. Work done by Al's Home Repair is quality, European craftsmanship that even your great grandchildren will be bragging about!

Q: We have an emergency, can you help us?

Absolutely! First, be sure to move yourself, family and pets to a safe place and call emergency services if your health, safety or life are at immediate risk by dialing 911. Once any urgent threat is taken care of by police, fire or medical services - give us a call for emergency service callback within 30 minutes and we will help you in any way we can.

Q: How can we be sure Al's Home Repair is right for our job?

If it is renovations, repairs, new construction or other kind of home improvement of a residential or commercial nature, that's a fine start. From that point, give us a call, let us take a look and we'll talk it over - if you feel Al's would suit your needs from there, we'd be happy to serve you.

We do bathrooms, kitchens, basements, decks, pools and just about any other kind of job - our pleasure is taking your nightmares and turning them into beautiful dreams.

Q: Won't I have to call numerous contractors for my renovation?

Not at all - we will take care of everything. Once we are given a job, we take care of all aspects of construction from carpentry to masonry to plumbing to electrical work and beyond.

Q: Is this some kind of "Jack of all trades, master of none" setup?

No. Each generation of our family is brought up in building and fixing things from a very young age. It is how things were done in the old country and it's how we still do things today - building, repairing and renovating is our passion... Even when our older generations retire, they can be found repairing and renovating things for friends and neighbors - just to keep happy and active. All phases of construction swim in our blood, we are proud to do this work and it is all we know. If you examine our areas of expertise, you will see how closely inter-related they are, it is all the same work to us.

Q: The "one day cosmetic fix" people say real construction is too messy. Is it?

Yes, but only as messy as the workers allow it to be. You would be surprised the level of demolition that can happen without upsetting your home when the proper care is taken. Our workers use thick drop cloths from the entry door of your home up to and around any and all areas where work is to be done. In most cases we leave a home cleaner than the first day we show up to work.

As some people say, "to make an omelet, you've got to break some eggs" - but that doesn't mean you have to throw the eggs around the house, mash them in the carpet, let the dog roll around in them and track them into the bedrooms. Our reputation is built on quality craftsmanship first, but if we were to be anything less than neat and careful within your home, our work wouldn't shine like it does.
